Belgian Dubbel is known for its dark reddish copper color, moderately strong, malty and complex with rich malt and nutty flavors. Complex, rich and sweet aroma, possibly with hints of chocolate, caramel and/or toast. Moderate fruity aroma (often including raisins and plums, sometimes also dried cherries). Alcohol, if present, is mild. Taste similar to aroma qualities, but finishes moderately dry. Notes of nuts are recurrent (spicy clove or pepper is optional). Medium-low bitterness.
