Cerveza lidera el consumo de bebidas alcohólicas en España - Beer Sapiens

"8 out of 10 people drink beer in our country"

A study carried out by the online research company Toluna, shows that the most consumed alcoholic beverage in Spain is beer with 83% followed by wine with 77%, spirits (Vodka, gin or whiskey) 59%, non-alcoholic beer 46% and finally vermouth with 39%. This new study analyzes alcohol consumption habits and trends in Spain.

The preferred moments for consuming alcoholic beverages vary: in the case of beer, 68% consume it when they go out with friends for a drink, lunch or dinner, while 46% do so drinking non-alcoholic beer. These numbers can be understood by the success of beer in the field of social relations, in a country where a beer and a tapa always go hand in hand.

When we talk about the days when drinks with alcohol are consumed the most, weekends are favorites, specifically, Saturdays are the day of greatest consumption according to those surveyed, followed by Fridays, Sundays and Thursdays. The main reason for consuming alcohol is to accompany a good lunch or dinner followed by celebrating, being in good company or having a good time.

According to this study, 67% would change or would be willing to change their way of consuming alcohol and consume more low-proof drinks. This is a percentage that, in the case of young people, rises to 73%, a large percentage compared to the general.
