Seafood is present in many cuisines around the world, from Brazilian, Spanish to Japanese. Its variety is tremendous, we find different types such as crabs, shrimps, octopus, squid and many others that we eat in different ways in different parts of Spain. Like fish, shellfish have a low fat content, but they have a more intense flavor of the sea, which guides us for beer pairing:
German Pilsen: German style bitter, light-bodied, refreshing, and foamy. In general, it is a fairly balanced and smooth beer and pairs very well with oysters, mussels and clams.
Kölsch: Of German origin, it is generally sweeter and with less hops, in some recipes it uses wheat. In other words, it has a mild taste that goes well with fried calamari and seafood risotto.
Weissbier: produced mainly by the large German breweries, these wheat beers are clear and opaque, with flavors of banana and cloves, they are generally very refreshing ideal to drink eating lobster, crab and octopus.
