Lager is the best-known style of beer worldwide, they are classified as light and usually have an intense flavor. Its name comes from the German lagern meaning to store, which refers to the old German technique of cold storage of beer, the stage at which the beer clears and softens. Lagers tend to be smooth, clean, generally tending to be smoother than ales. Lagers come in countless variations such as Pilsner, Helles, Bock.
