We've been talking about Sour for several weeks now, super refreshing beers, and also about Berliner Weisse, a subcategory of this style. I'm sure your curiosity has been piqued and you want to try some of them. And we understand it, at night the temperature does not drop and what you want is to share a good chat with your friends and some good beers.
Why don't you propose a dinner to discover these two styles of beers? In our store we have several made with great care by national brewers. And to make it even more easy, I propose a complete menu, with the dishes that pair best. It couldn't be easier….
To begin with, we are going to combine the starters with the beers with a lower alcohol content. You can start with a lamb’s lettuce salad with soft cheese, honey and rosemary that harmonizes perfectly with the Heliodora Berliner Weisse. This smooth and very refreshing beer has a powerful citrus flavor due to the blood orange. In addition, its low ABV (Alcohol content) is perfect to start the night.
Together with the salad, a little tabouleh will go great with the Berliner Weisse Maracuyá. This beer is a combination of acidity and tropical citrus and tropical flavors (here especially from the passion fruit). This mix is perfect for a dish as exotic and simple as tabbouleh salad. I'll give you the recipe: you just have to mix this variant of wheat semolina with diced tomato, onion, cucumber and mint, and leave it overnight in the fridge.
You can also prepare some vegetable crudités (raw sticks of carrot, courgette, celery and cucumber) to dip in a cream cheese. This aperitif combines wonderfully with the Rewind Berliner Weisse, with a characteristic acid tone with hints of fruit and a dry finish on the palate.
Afterwards, you can serve some Andalusian squid, that is, the typical battered squid of a lifetime. And what sour would go well with this dish with a stronger flavor? ? Well, the Mucho Mucho Mango Passion Fruit . As its name suggests, it has a lot of various things: a lot of mango, a lot of passion fruit, a lot of sour and a lot of foam. Its acidic character makes it go very well with fried foods as it helps "clean" the palate to continue eating.
For the main course, we are going to switch to a beer with a higher alcohol content, the Backflips All Day Long Barcelona Weisse.
To finish off the desserts, we propose two very powerful sours. Any of them pairs very well with a lemon, lime or cheesecake. You can even make small tartlets of these flavors to make it even more fun. The beers are the Black Pie Sour, which is inspired by a blackcurrant sponge cake. It has a fairly acid point, and a resounding flavor of fruit, biscuit and vanilla. Attention, it also has a graduation of 7.7%.
The Drippy Fruit Sour would also go very well with these desserts, with very present acidity and a strong fruity taste. And with good reason, because 300 kg have been used to make it of papaya, brought directly from Brazil, and 300 kg of blackcurrant. In the mouth it is a bomb of natural fruit!
And after this feast, only the after-dinner talk remains. We are sure that this dinner will pleasantly leave soureveryone lit…. Cheers!
