Celebra el Día de Star Wars con cervezas - Beer Sapiens

Surely you know that today, May 4th, we celebrate Star Wars Day. Star Wars Day is a day in which fans of the saga created by George Lucas celebrate their love for the greatest film series of all time.

The day has already been established as official by Lucasfilm and Disney, although it was more of a joke of sorts. The phonetic relationship between "May the Fourth" (May 4) and "May the force with you", explains the choice of this date.

Celebrations, conferences, parties are organized all over the world... and perhaps if you're also a fan, you might ask yourself, friend beersapiens, how to unite my two passions? Star Wars and craft beers?

We're here to help you, like a Jedi Master! We've gone through the whole saga to find the alcoholic drinks that appear in the movies, and offer you a suitable beer alternative.

Celebrate Star Wars with beers

How about hosting a star wars themed beer tasting? Because whether you are a super fan, or if the one who knows all the dialogues by heart is your cousin Miguel, it is always a good opportunity to enjoy craft beers. Let's get to it!

The drinks that appear in Star Wars

We have compiled for you (thanks to Star Wars Fandom) the alcoholic beverages that appear in the saga, and reflected on what equivalent in beer you can find in our store. There are a few more, but these are the most interesting

Pirate beer in Star Wars: the green beer…. that leaves you ko

“Master…what happened?”

“Well…I guess that pirate beer was stronger than we thought.”

“I only took a sip.”

“We're high, obviously.”

―Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, after waking up in a cell after drinking pirate beer.

Pirate beer was a green alcoholic beverage popular among the Weequay pirates of Hondo Ohnaka's gang. During a banquet at their base on the planet Florrum celebrating the capture of Count Dooku, the pirates served this drink to human Jedi Knights Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in an attempt to drug them, but the Jedi used the Force to switch their drinks to those of a nearby Weequay and Kajain'sa'Nikto, who fell unconscious from drinking.

Here we can do two things. The first is to opt for a green beer, we already talked about them in this article. The Green Beer were born in the United States to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. The bad thing is that to get that color an industrial dye was added, which could make the drink toxic. Exactly as it happens to the protagonists of Star Wars

So that the same thing doesn't happen to you, if you want to have a green concoction in your glass and recreate the banquet on the planet Forrum, we suggest you try a wonderful craft cider, The Fierce Man, made with Granny Smith, Golden, Fuji and Pink Lady apples and with a beautiful pale green color.

Agaric beer: the usual blonde beers

Agaric Beer was an alcoholic beverage much favored by the Neimoidians. Many beings of other species, however, regarded her with little relish.Appears in “Darth Maul The Hunter in the Dark”

To recreate this drink, which we are told has a mild flavor, we recommend you grab several Lager and Pilsner, Since these categories are the ones that have historically had the most distribution and our palates are most accustomed to them

Lagers have an intense flavor but are light and smooth. We recommend you try the Dawat 5, a very refreshing pale lager with a low body and light blonde color. Or the Yakka Type Lager, a traditional blonde, dry, natural and unfiltered. And as always, we also offer you gluten-free options, such as the Sanfrutos Lager German, very balanced and fresh.

Another style that could be agaric beer, due to its compensated flavor, is the Pilsner. Known worldwide, they are more bitter than Lagers but their flavor is still light. And we also have the PERFECT beer for this Star Wars tasting: La Pirata Pils Pilsen. Blonde, light and uncomplicated. (Does it have something to do with the pirate beer above?)

Celanon Semi-Dry

Celanon Semi-Seco was a type of wine enjoyed by Roganda Ismaren. He was presumably originally from Celanon.

At Beersapiens we don't have wines but… we do have beers that are almost wine: the Barleywine, also known as “wine from barley". These beers are strong, rich in malt and when aged can take on flavors similar to Port or semi-dry.

In fact, the Spanish master craftsmen make some wonderful combinations where the beer takes all the good things from the wine, such as the Sherry Beer Duela, which is matured in oak barrels that It has previously been aged with Oloroso de Jerez. We're sure Roganda Ismaren would love it.

Black Membership

Version of the golden membrosia created by the gorog, much more powerful and addictive. After a year of black market sales, he had ruined the economy of the Roche Asteroids. Sien Sovv was killed when a drunk black membrosia pilot crashed into him.

This one is easy! If in your Star Wars pairing you want to emulate this insectoid species and its passion for black membership, you just have to choose a couple of good black craft beers. But black, black, or rather, porters porters, such as Castrum Porter (with its aroma of coffee, chocolate and vanilla) or the Robus Porter Limited Edition from the Murcian brewery La Ribera.

Honey Sparkbee

Sparkbee honey was a popular drink among the Yuuzhan Vong. It was formed from the honey of the sparkbee, a creature that was the basis of at least two of the projectile biots used by the Warrior Caste. Sparkbee honey was a slightly intoxicating drink, and was a highly controlled substance; not because it was addictive, but because it was flammable if caught on fire, and very dangerous to vonduun crabs.

To finish, we are going to propose beers in which honey plays an important role, either in its ingredients or in its flavour. For example, the Columbus and Orange Blossom Honey, an American Pale Ale to which a touch of orange blossom honey has been added. We also love the aroma of strawberry and honey from Lady Açai, a lush Honey Ale with very low bitterness. oh! And don't worry, you can safely drink these beers, because they are not flammable ;)

We really enjoyed preparing this themed tasting around Star Wars. Because drinking craft beer is also a fun moment, and any celebration is good for tasting quality beers.

So, after all these brewery suggestions based on your favorite movie, we can only say: May the force be with you!
