Beer, for us at Beer Sapiens is the drink that celebrates encounters, whether between friends, couples or families. The important thing is that the beers are always present at all times. From this philosophy arises Beer Sapiens, your online store and recommender of craft beers, where you will discover the different beer styles (Lager, IPA, Weissbier, Stout,...) in an easy, fun and very gastronomic.

Beer Sapiens, the beginning

Our trajectory begins in Brazil, specifically in 2015, when Sanmy Moura, one of our Co-Founders, started working with digital marketing for an craft beer e-commerce . It was 3 years of immersion in the beer world, until fate changed the course of his life towards Madrid.

In Spain, adventure and good craft beers led him to find Herminio Campillo, our second Co-Founder, who has been working for more than 11 years in the digital commerce with products related to gastronomy and fashion. Between conversations and pauses to taste good craft beers, the idea of ​​setting up an e-commerce was discussed, but for one reason or another it was always postponed.

Beer to save 2020, PLEASE!

Until the year 2020, despite being dark, made us think about what the next step would be if we really wanted to sell craft beers online. So, with great enthusiasm, we began to study the market and we saw a big problem: the more than 500 independent craft brewers in Spain whose sales were affected by the coronavirus crisis.

In this way, we pool our knowledge and experience to treat the situation as an opportunity to support all the Spanish craft brewers who need help to sell their beers and get them from north to south of Spain. We finally created: Beer Sapiens, the evolution of beer.

Beer Sapiens, the brewing evolution

Our online craft beer store was born with the initial objective of being a new sales channel for craft brewers in Spain. On our platform we want beer lovers to come together to form a beer community, to find many varieties of local beers and support craft brewers. But why the name Beer Sapiens?

The name Beer Sapiens arises from a reference to homo sapiens, as we believe that the species of be-brewer it continues to evolve over the years in relation to the way people think about beer: we choose different styles, we know that it is possible to make beer pairings, we have access to beers from different regions. We are no longer primates, we are all Beer Sapiens.

Furthermore, our platform will also function as a recommender of craft beers, where everyone can get help to buy and learn about the craft world (beers Lager , Pilsner, Weissbier, IPA, Pale Ale, Stout, Porter and other beer styles). Our product pages have information so that all Beer Sapiens learn while buying, until their beers arrive at home.
